This is so true about many things in life. Many times things get hard and people quit or never start. This is because purposeful struggle makes you stronger, and our society wants to minimize struggle and appropriate conflict. If we want something great, then we have to work in spite of struggle and challenge.
Dear Hillcrest Christian School Alumni: Hillcrest Christian School has remodeled its heart and anticipates God’s blessing as we follow his lead in creating a school that is “Devoted to Christ and Dedicated to Excellence”. We have integrated a full Christian worldview curriculum that also meets standards. We have hired a group of new teachers to add to the amazing teachers who have served with years of experience and personal testimonies of God’s call to teach at Hillcrest. We are rebuilding all of our athletic programs, and we are beginning a phased approach of facility upgrades, beginning with a brand new sign at the Siwell Road entrance. As the new Head of School, I would like to create a digital database of our alumni. We will use the database to celebrate with you in your successes, pray for you in your endeavors, and share with you the mission and vision of Hillcrest for the future, a school you will be proud to claim as your alma mater. If you are an alum or know someone who is, please share this post and visit the alumni page on our website to register. https://www.hillcrestchristian.org/about/alumni.cfm
Hello, Hillcrest family. I am very excited about how God is moving at Hillcrest Christian School. Monday night’s Family Prayer Meeting was amazing. God’s presence was apparent as we prayed and worshipped as a family. This is not the last prayer gathering, and there will be plenty more Family Prayer Meetings as the year continues. When I was hired at Hillcrest, my passion for the school was and is to be Christ centered above all else. Everything that the school does branches off from a devotion to Christ. If we are first a Christian school, we can provide a college preparatory education; if we are first a Christian school, we can provide career technical options; if we are first a Christian school we can provide resources to students that may struggle; if we are first a Christian school we can build strong athletic programs for the future. Furthermore, if we are first a Christian school, the most important impact of our school will be to minister to the lives of our faculty and staff, students, families, and community. God’s word says be doers of His word and not merely hearers. Our responsibility is to hear from our living and active God, and respond to His leading. Jesus said that if we love Him, then we love the Father. He also said that if we love Him, we will feed His sheep. I keep speaking to people and find myself saying church in the place of school, but honestly we are the church, living out the vision of being Devoted to Christ and Dedicated to Excellece. A Hillcrest COUGAR is: Christian, Obedient, Unified in kingdom purpose, Grateful, Authentic, and Respectful Thank you Hillcrest Family from the depths of my heart. Your Head of School, Charlie Jackson

Did you know? Hillcrest has its own Maker Space, an integral part of our NEW S.T.EM. Program. What is a Maker Space? It’s a designated area where students have the opportunity and supplies to create, try engineering challenges, and have hands-on learning experiences that reiterate what they learn in the classroom. As a part of the new S.T.E.M. Program, we will be helping our teachers with challenges that reinforce their lessons. Want to try it out? Beat summer boredom with one of the task cards found in our maker space. Send us a picture of your creation!
If you are a Preschool/Elementary family or you haven’t been able to meet our new Head Of School yet, please come by Monday, July 5th, between 5:30 and 7:00 pm.
Day 11 - Mission/Vision We are praying together for Hillcrest for 12 Days. Please join us.
https://www.hillcrestchristian.org/admissions/preadmissionform.cfm Our very own second grade teacher, Mrs. Davis, spends her Summer break at the Mississippi Children’s Museum. It is hard to tell the difference between her two jobs though because she utilizes the same hands-on learning in her classroom as they do at the museum. If you have an upcoming second grader you are thinking about sending to Hillcrest, there are a few spots available. Fill out a pre-admission form on our website and schedule a tour today!
